Historic background of ceramics and pottery in Tunisia
In the
family of ceramics and pottery the
RAKEN Style collection includes several types of vases and other
potteries :
Flat
vases
Round
vases
High
Vases
Long
Vases
Incrusted
potteries
Our vases
are designed and hand crafted by an artistic outfit who searches the
Tunisian cultures of the past in an archaeological way and applies this
knowledge to its creations, with as results unique items with strong links
to Mediterranean, Arab and African cultures.
Long vases
have won the second prize at the 17th Exhibition of Artisan Creation held
in Tunis in November 1999.
RAKEN features vases in various shapes: long vases, high vases,
round vases and flat vases.
The silver
thread incrusted crushed stone painted potteries are made from a crude
clay on which the artisan applies his subtle techniques, transforming the
object into a noble work, which does not betray its humble origins. You
will find traditional Arab motives, such as the Khlala, the Khomsa (hand
of Fatima) or the Zawia (house of a saint), Berber motives or African
motives.
Due to the fact that these items are hand crafted, colours and patterns may vary slightly from the exhibited items.
In the frame of ourCollectors
Corner, we can also seek for you other ceramics and pottery products according to your specifications and descriptions.
