Wednesday, Novmber 14th 2001 : SOS Tunisia wins the Gold Tanit

On November 14th 2001, the award ceremonial for the Tanitweb 2001 contest of the best Tunisian web sites, took place at the Carthage palace hotel at Gammarth, Tunisia.

The SOS Tunisia web site, which ran under the category civil associations, won the Gold Tanit.
Mrs. Mounira Aissa, the vice-president of ATVESOS (Tunisian association of SOS children villages) conveyed the two children from the SOS village at Gammarth, who received the famous award.

The ceremonial was transmitted in the « Internet Night » special program of the international TV network Tunisia 7. The Tanitweb contest was organized by the Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI) and Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) during this year’s Internet week.

The SOS Tunisia web site was designed by the RAKEN web development team as a present to help the association promote its worthy cause. The web site is temporarily hosted under the www.raken.com domain until it can be transferred to a new Tunisian domain.

Note : Tanit was the goddess of fertility in ancient Carthage.
